Thought Topic #3 Example of Evolution of Assignment
I reviewed handshake for possible positions I was interested in and felt that linked in would help me more. Saying that, I do feel that many people are using linked in and it may not be as easy to reach the employer. In this position there are many facets of skills I can be working towards but I understand that some of the most important ways to showcase you are a good candidate for this specific position would be to show the design familiarity. The skill I would need help with showcasing would be UX design. My portfolio does currently show design but not specific to UX design.
The other position I am looking at is the education community manager. Given that I am currently working in education and creating connections with digital portfolios via the website wix.com I may be able to showcase my value in this specific position. The skills I could work towards for this position would be could be taking more mobile courses which would help me expand on building communities specifically with education and online platforms.
Because the later is something I am already doing I am going to opt to work towards UX design for my proposal but I am also going to showcase how the proposal can be applied to positions you are ready to apply for.
Proposal
To: Professor Murray From: Date: Subject: Lesser Strengths & Improvement Proposal
Introduction UX Design: Freelance Midweight Designer From my research this position is asking for UX design experience and a portfolio. I will work on my UX design skills by taking the courses offered on Linked In.
Background Information What is UX design? User experience (UX) design is the process design teams use to create products that provide meaningful and relevant experiences to users. This involves the design of the entire process of acquiring and integrating the product, including aspects of branding, design, user ability and function.
Proposal My approach at improving my UX design skill will be to take at least one online course each day and either work on one project through these workshops or work on different projects for five days consecutively. I also want to research user ability and research that has been done in regards to that. I’ll begin my observation and research on Monday the first day of spring break. Through this I can showcase my evolution of my research and growth and this can in turn showcase my worth for this company. Conclusion I know this is important for me to be able to showcase UX design experience if I want this job. One thing I have already noticed with my research so far is that there is a significant increase between graphic design jobs and UX design jobs and I know I am capable of doing them both but I need to showcase my ability to improve my UX design skills.
